We drove up to Discovery Park for a portrait session early-early this morning, while it was still dark: we wanted to catch the good light right at sunrise. Well, it was raining, and even when the sun came up it was too dark. We talked about giving up and going home. We drove around, and went for coffee, and waited, and suddenly, the rain stopped. Suddenly, the sun came out—the way hope sometimes rushes in out of nowhere and fills you up—and even though it was freezing cold at the edge of the water, it was worth the long, dark drive to get there.
